This afternoon, Marion Public Schools was advised by our Liaison Officer to enter Secure Mode. For additional information regarding this action, please review the attached news release from the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.

We appreciate the cooperation and support of our parents and families as student safety remains our top priority. Students responded appropriately, and our teachers and staff did an excellent job guiding them through the procedure.

We are currently in Secure Mode in response to an incident that occurred in town. Secure Mode may extend beyond dismissal time.

Our first priority is the safety of your children. At this time, no one will be permitted to enter or leave any school building, including both the elementary and high school.

Marion Public Schools is participating in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) for the 2025-2026 school year. What this means is All students K-12 at Marion Public Schools receive free breakfast and free lunch each day at NO CHARGE to your household.

Breakfast serving times are:

Jr/Sr High School Cafeteria

M/T/Th/F at 7:40 am to 8:00 am, W 8:40 am to 9:00 am

Elementary Cafeteria - grades 3-4-5,

Classrooms - grades K-1-2

M/T/Th/F at 7:50 am to 8:10 am, W 8:50 am to 9:10 am
