The girls will be learning cheers and getting ready to cheer alongside our Marion Varsity Cheerleaders during Friday's homecoming game! ❤️🤍
Grades K-2 will be cheering during the first quarter and grades 3-6 will be cheering during the second quarter. They also will be walking in the parade with us on Friday with lineup at 4:45pm and the parade starting at 5:15pm. You will then pick your child up at the high school after the parade at 5:30pm.
✨ Don’t forget: If your child is riding the bus to the high school, please make sure they have a bus note for both Tuesday & Thursday.

The Marion Cross Country Team hosted the first West Michigan D League Jamboree along with our Steeplechase Invitational. Our Steeplechase is an atypical meet because it requires runners to hurdle logs, bales, and tires. A huge shout out to the volunteers who helped run the meet, the Johnson's for letting us use their bales, Pollington Machine Tool Inc. for making and donating our placement medals, and the Lansing Waverly High School Cross Country Team for their runner's camaraderie/help setting up the course. Marion High School students are showcasing outstanding financial literacy and strategic investment skills in The Stock Market Game, managing a combined portfolio valued at $5,425,332.09 across 54 participating student teams.
Marion High School is currently dominating regional rankings, claiming four of the top 10 spots, including the #1 team overall with a total equity of $103,507.99 (+3.30% growth, outperforming the S&P 500 index). Overall, our student teams are delivering strong performance and disciplined capital management across the board.
Highlights:
Total Capital Managed: $5,425,332.09 in total portfolio equity.
Average Portfolio Value: $100,469.11 per team, representing a net gain across the entire school cohort.
Leaderboard Dominance: MHS holds 4 of the Top 10 ranks (#1, #4, #6, #10) and 26 of the Top 50 spots regionally.
High Success Rate: 50 out of 54 student teams (92.6%) are currently profitable, maintaining equity above their initial $100,000 starting cash.
Effective Risk Control: Exceptional capital preservation across all teams, with the lowest-performing account down less than 0.2% ($99,825.61).
Through this hands-on simulation, students gain real-world experience in equity analysis, tracking market trends, portfolio diversification, and long-term risk management.
Our students are applying real-world math and economic concepts directly to active market scenarios at Marion High School. Holding the top spot in the region and placing over half of our teams in the top 50 shows incredible research, discipline, and critical thinking.
