Ladies and Gentlemen: The staff here desperately wants life to get back to normal for many reasons, but since we are human, we must admit we have selfish reasons, too. We LOVE AND MISS OUR STUDENTS! At the end of this message will be a video shared by some of our educator friends. Please take three minutes of your time to check it out, you wont be sorry! We at MPS realize if you can watch the video, you obviously have internet access. Not everyone does. We know that many educational opportunities are best served in "hard copy" form. Unfortunately, others could be boosted by methods that require our students (& Parents) having access to high speed internet. We realize about half of our student's have access to quality internet. Our district can't "fix everything" for folks, but we are trying to help. Here's how: We are writing grants to help us finance the purchase of 6 commercial grade "Mifi" boxes from Verizon. These boxes can handle up to 18 simultaneous high speed connections before they slow down for the user. By early next week, these boxes will be configured and installed at the following locations: 1. Marion Elementary 2. Marion HS 3. Winterfield township 4. Middle Branch Hall 5. Middle Branch gas station 6. Redding Hall 7. Dighton Store 8. Highland Township Hall 9. Pisgah Church Users would have to be in the parking lots of the locations to connect. They will be left on 24 hours a day. We know this doesn't "fix the internet problem" but we are proud to work hard to make things better for our kids and families. We hope the connections are used frequently. Here's the video. Please let your friends and families know about the Mifi boxes so they can watch the video early next week! Here's the video as promised: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=7qJvxXdaOps&feature=youtu.be#dialog
