Good Morning! Today is Monday, April 11, 2022, and here are today’s announcements:
Students, please stay home from school if you are showing any signs of an infectious disease like the flu or covid-19 such as: fever/chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle/body aches, headache, the new loss of taste/smell, sore throat, congestion/runny nose, nausea/vomiting, or diarrhea.
Prom Tickets will be on sale at Lunch. Tickets are $20.00 per person or $30.00 Per Couple. The prom is Saturday, April 23rd at the Old Mill Venue. Guest forms can be picked up in the office and must be turned in by 3:05 pm on Wednesday, April 20th.
Students: Please complete the After Prom Google Form survey sent to your email before Easter.
Students: MHS After Prom activities are back! Stop by the table during high school lunch this week until April 19th to get information, a permission slip, waiver, and pay to attend After Prom 2022 hosted by MPACT. Cost: $25 per student. Activities included in the price: a movie, bowling, the YMCA, snacks and drinks, and a lot of fun. All participants must register in advance because spots are limited. The first 30 students to register will get a free After Prom T-shirt!
MPACT Members: Our regular after-school meeting is moved to Tuesday, April 12th, 3:15-4:15 p.m. We had to move our meeting since teachers have a mandatory staff meeting on Monday.
Students: Please make sure your Chromebooks are left in the Chromebook carts at the end of the day on Friday. We will be doing inventory on Monday, April 18th.
Students & Staff: When you see 7th grader, Marvin Mills, today tell him CONGRATULATIONS! He created an SLS project about self-image and wrote an original song that was entered in a state-level conference. He competed against high school students and won the big prize in his category for our Marion SLS chapter! The winning projects will be shown on the SLS website www.SLStoday.org and the social media channels, Facebook and Instagram @SLSTODAY and YouTube @SLSTODAYMI as well as shared with students and schools across Michigan. SLS Program Director, Dawn Flood says, “Marvin and the other project winners will be famous in Michigan by the end of 2022.”
Marvin will also have opportunities to present his project with the SLS network-whether it is at schools (traveling with Dawn to present) or at an SLS conference. His first presentation will be local when he visits MES to work with the 6th-grade class. HUGE congratulations, Marvin, from your Advisors and friends in SLS!
