Staff, Students, Parents, and Community Members:
Unfortunately, when a tragedy happens like the one that happened with Oxford Schools, there will inevitably be copycat threats.
Over the weekend, Marion Public Schools administration became aware of a potential threat against the Marion Jr-Sr. High School. The Osceola County Sheriff's Office was immediately contacted and the case was turned over to them for further investigation.
According to law enforcement, the case is still being investigated.
The safety of our students and staff is our highest priority and we are working very closely with the police to ensure our students are safe. We also thank law enforcement for their quick response in investigating this threat. In an effort to ease concerns from parents, students, and staff, there will be an increased police presence in the schools.
