Elementary Switching to Remote Learning

April 7, 2021

Dear Marion Families,

After reviewing staff and student attendance data and illness rates at the elementary school, Marion Public Schools will be extending our school closure to include all students. Elementary students will be having virtual instruction from April 8th - April 19th. All students in grades K-12 will return to face-to-face instruction as scheduled, on April 20, 2021. Food will be distributed to all students on Monday (April 12th) and Thursdays (April 8th and 15th) from 10:30 am-Noon at Marion Elementary, Middle Branch Township Hall, Deighton Store, Winterfield Township Hall, and the Temple Store. The first day of distribution will be April 8th.

Parents and community members are reminded to continue to monitor for symptoms of COVID-19, which are on the CDC website. Contact your primary care physician if further support is needed. We will continue to evaluate each building, in collaboration with the Health Department, to determine further district closures.

If you have any questions as we work through challenges during these extraordinary times, please feel free to contact me via email sbrimmer@marion.k12.mi.us or by phone (231) 743-2486.

Respectfully,

Mr. Steve Brimmer
