Marion Public School doesn’t operate on magic. It is fueled day by day, and on evenings or weekends, by staff and volunteers who make our school a better place. The 15-B Regional Coordinating Council of MEA honors those worthy of some appreciation by hosting the annual Outstanding Person in Education and Friend of Education banquet schools in our surrounding area. Receiving the OPIE award this year for Marion is 30 year 5th grade teacher, Mrs. Mary Bell. In addition, the Marion Athletic Boosters was honored as the FOE. The volunteer group was represented by Amy Whitney and Megan Hall, two faces you see often at organizational meetings or in the concession stands.
