Jr-Sr- High School News

Last week, the 5th-grade class traveled up to Marion Jr./Sr. High School to ask some questions and take a tour of their new school.  Part of the day's activities included a land navigation course.  Our (basically) 6th graders were given topographic maps of the school grounds, a compass, a protractor, and 12 sets of six-digit coordinates.  They plotted points and took off to find code words which correspond to important locations around the school like; the difference between morning bus and parent drop-off; locations of the football practice field, baseball, and softball fields; and ended with the ringing of the Victory Bell to commemorate their first successful task as (practically) Marion Jr. Sr. High School Students!!!

A huge thanks to all the high school students who helped welcome our newest scholars.
