Daily Announcements

Good Morning! Today is Monday, April 10, 2023, and here are today’s announcements: 

  • Hello, Marion Jr and Sr high school!  You know what THIS week starts…Testing with SAT and Mstep. 

So STAFF:  it’s time to step up and show your support. Just like we do for our sports athletes, robotics team, and esports teams, show your encouragement for our academic athletes. Wear your Marion wear EVERY DAY until we are done testing our building. Sure, you will need to plan ahead, you may need to do laundry more or visit the school store or Flemmings, you can do it. For the students. We support YOU through every question, every minute, that you are doing your best. You can do it! We’ve got your back. AND good thinking to you all sixth graders through seniors!

  • High School– Get your After Prom permission slips TODAY!  Pre-registration is required.  The deadline is April 21st. The cost is $30.00 each. Approved guests are also welcome to attend.  Be one of the FIRST to turn in your permission slip and registration fee and get a FREE After Prom t-shirt!

  • JR HIGH LOCK IN students! Turn in your permission slip and money ASAP!! We still need a couple of chaperones to help fill some spots. A BIG THANK YOU to our high school MPACT members and other student recruits for helping put this event on! See you Friday at 8:50 for the Dance and 11:00 for the lock-in! Anyone helping setup should be here at 7:30 pm. 

  • The National Honor Society is holding its last blood drive of the year at Marion High School on April 18 from 10:00 am - 3:45 pm. If you are interested in donating you can sign up under our new NHS bulletin Board outside the cafeteria. You must be at least 16 years old (with parent/guardian consent form); 17 and up, no form is needed. Please plan to wait 15 minutes after your donation for observation. 

  • Any senior who is planning on pursuing a career in Natural Resources or Environmental Study, the Jim Comp Memorial Scholarship is available for you to fill out in the office. Applications are due by May 1. See Mrs. Louwers if you have any questions.

  • Brooke E. Flint STEM Scholarship for Women application is now available in the office for all high school senior girls who are planning on pursuing a STEM course of study at either a college/university or other post-secondary educational institution. The deadline to apply is May 12th no exceptions. Please see Mrs. Louwers if you have questions.

  • Seniors: Please complete the “Decision Day Updates” Google Form that Ms. St.John sent to your email by next Tuesday! Your responses are necessary for our Decision Day Celebration in May.

  • Spring Sports photos will take place on April 21st. Check with your coach for your slotted time as well as your order form. Extra forms are available in the office. 

  • Prom has been scheduled for May 6th at the Olde Mill Venue from 7-11 PM. Tickets will go on sale April 24th-May 5th during High School lunch. Tickets are 1-$20 or 2 for $30. You can also pick up your Guest passes at that time. They will be due to the MHS office no later than May 3rd at 2:50 PM.
